This testing equipment is specifically designed to meet the requirements of IEC 62560 Clause 15, providing a reliable and standardized solution for evaluating the performance of non-dimmable self-ballasted LED lamps. The system simulates the electrical conditions defined in the Figure 8 test circuit, ensuring accurate verification of lamp compliance, stability, and operational characteristics under specified conditions.

Operation Procedure
15. Abnormal Operation Testing
Self-ballasted lamps shall not create hazard under abnormal operating conditions. Self-ballasted lamps shall be constructed so that as a result of abnormal or careless operation, the risk of fire and mechanical damage impairing safety of protection against electric shock is obviated. Applying non-dimmable self-ballasted lamps on a dimmer or an electronic switch is to be tested as a possible case of abnormal operation.
Test Procedure
  1. Test non-dimmable lamp in test circuit shown in figure 8
  2. Determine R1 and S1 setting at which the maximum I r.m.s occurs
  3. Test at this situation, and if the lamp passively fails within 60 min, repeat the test at 10% lower I r.m.s
  4. The lower I r.m.s shall be set in the decreasing potentiometer resistance direction
  5. Repeat this procedure until stable operation is achieved for minimum 60 min
